Database Management:Install, configure, and upgrade database software for MongoDB, Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
Create and maintain database instances, schemas, tables, indexes, and views.
Monitor database performance and optimize queries for improved efficiency.
Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, and data integrity checks.
Implement and maintain database security measures, such as user access controls and data encryption.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and incidents promptly.
Database Design and Development:Collaborate with application developers and system administrators to design, develop, and implement database
solutions.
Ensure the integrity and efficiency of database designs, including normalization and indexing strategies.
Assist in the development of data models, entity-relationship diagrams, and database documentation.
Evaluate and recommend appropriate database technologies and architectures for specific projects.
Data Migration and Integration:Plan and execute data migration projects between different database systems.
Integrate databases with other applications and systems, ensuring seamless data flow and synchronization.
Design and implement data replication and clustering strategies for high availability and disaster recovery.
Performance Monitoring and Optimization:Monitor database performance using tools and techniques to identify bottlenecks and optimize queries.
Analyze database performance metrics, generate reports, and propose optimizations for better efficiency.
Implement database tuning strategies, including index creation, query optimization, and configuration
adjustments.
Security and Compliance:Implement and enforce database security policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Maintain database backups and disaster recovery plans.
Stay updated with the latest security threats and implement appropriate security patches and upgrades
QUALIFICATIONS/Skills:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
5 years of overall Database Administration or similar role experience
Proven work experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
In-depth knowledge and experience with MongoDB, Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
Strong understanding of database architecture, data modeling, and schema design principles.
Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
Experience with database performance monitoring and tuning.
Familiarity with database security concepts and best practices.
Experience in data migration, integration, and replication.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator) are a plus.
